CBS puts up biggest numbers Friday with GW
Great news for Ghost Whisperer! Thanks Trotter for letting us know.
At 8 p.m., CBS’ “Ghost Whisperer” scared up the biggest audience of the night with 11.6 million viewers. ABC’s “Wife Swap” ran a distant second with 4.6 million fans. “Howie Do It” amused 4.3 million for NBC. Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” seems headed for termination: Just 3.4 million tuned in.
Entertainment Weekly talks Ghost Whisperer
Mandi Bierly from Entertainment Weekly published two articles where she talks about Ghost Whisperer and last night’s episode.
I am a Ghost Whisperer fan. There, I said. I didn’t even use the small shame type. This is the third time I’ve written about the show on PopWatch, so I figure I need to own it. I’m still not sure about the “Sim” storyline (that’s the spirit of Melinda’s dead husband Jim inhabiting the body of Sam and having amnesia), but I am certain that I no longer have the right to preface my appreciation for Jennifer Love Hewitt’s performance with something like, “I’m gonna write something I’ve never written before: Well done.” The fact is, when Melinda (Hewitt) cries, I cry. And last night’s episode got me. Again.
The first five episodes of the season averaged 9.5 million viewers, while Jim’s death and the eight episodes that have followed have averaged 10.9 million (an increase of 14 percent). Producers wanted to show us Melinda and Jim falling in love, and I’m enjoying it more now that they’ve stopped showing Sam’s body so much. (Sim only looks like Conrad to viewers.) But I still wish they’d just planned a half-season flashback so it was our Jim we were seeing. We all know what it meant for Melinda to finally find him, someone who believed her gift and supported it. That’s the story I want to hear. Even though Sim, who doesn’t yet know that Melinda sees dead people, will have a similar experience, it’s not THE experience. You could argue that Melinda will be even more desperate now that she’s had that kind of love and lost it — and that’s why I’m tuning in each week — but again, it’s just not quite as satisfying as it could have been.

Forget the ailing economy! A freebee is still a freebie–at least according to Jennifer Love Hewitt.
PerezHilton.com is reporting that the Ghost Whisperer star demanded that CBS execs foot the bill for her $1,500 Alice in Wonderland-themed birthday tea party–despite the network’s rule forbidding any production-fronted parties in the current economic atmosphere.
The show reportedly had to get creative to keep the party under wraps from CBS bosses.
To add insult to injury, Hewitt didn’t invite the majority of her Ghost Whisperer crew, even though CBS was paying for the party. Those that did make the guest list included castmates and members of her hair, makeup and wardrobe team. Guests were treated to catering from Marmalade Cafe at $19 a pop. And the actress herself reportedly called the paparazzi to come shoot the party.
Hewitt Finds Happiness In Exercise

Jennifer Love Hewitt has turned to exercise to help mend her broken heart after splitting from fiance Ross McCall.
The actress, who is turning 30, admits a new workout regime is not only getting her fit, it is helping her find peace after her painful romance break-up at the start of 2009.
She explains, “Exercising has cut my anxiety way down, and it’s made me sleep better.”
And Hewitt tells Life & Style magazine she’s also trying to eat healthier too: “I allow myself one really bad day a week when I can have all the cupcakes and whatever else I want to have. And the rest of the week, I just try to be really sensible about it.”

What better way for an Audrey Hepburn fan to ring in a birthday than to have breakfast at Tiffany’s? That’s exactly what Jennifer Love Hewitt did to mark turning 30 over the weekend.
The Ghost Whisperer star, who starred as her idol in the 2000 made for television biopic The Audrey Hepburn Story, dressed up like Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s character, Holly Golightly, in a little black dress, long black gloves and a tiara on Saturday. She then had breakfast – a croissant and coffee – at Tiffany’s in Beverly Hills.
“My mom worked that our for me,” Hewitt told PEOPLE at The Envelope Please AIDS Project Los Angeles Oscar viewing party in West Hollywood on Sunday.
“It was amazing. I had a great day,” Hewitt beamed, showing off a pair of Tiffany diamond stud earrings and a Tiffany diamond cuff bracelet that her mother, Pat Hewitt, gave to her as a birthday gift.
On Saturday evening, family and friends, including Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy, all partook in the Hepburn theme at The Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.
“The whole cast, we all went and all the women were Audrey Hepburn and all the guys were George Peppard,” Kennedy tells PEOPLE. “I played it off by wearing a skinny tie.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt says Alanis Morissette is helping mend her broken heart. The “Ghost Whisperer” star – who split from Scottish actor Ross McCall last month – listens to the Canadian singer’s album “Jagged Little Pill” to get her through the break-up, while eating chocolate.
When asked how she was coping with the split, Jennifer said: “One day at a time, and lots of chocolate! Alanis is helping too.”
“Everybody has to get through it in their own way. I choose to believe that some people are just not right for you, and there’s somebody else who will be.”
But while Jennifer says she bears no grudges, she isn’t interested in keeping in touch with her former flame.
She said: “Sometimes it’s OK not to be friends.”
